In the spring and summer, I almost completely abandon all types of art and painting. Being in Wisconsin, the absolute last place I want to be after a 7-month winter is indoors staring at a canvas or a piece of paper. F thaaaat.
Instead, I turn my attention to other types of fun projects. Like this one.
I bought it at a rummage sale for $10 -- stripped it, took it apart, refinished it, and then modified it into a working lamp. It was a 1930s or 40s salon hair dryer.
I posted the project to Reddit and it got 1,664 upvotes and made it to #77 on the front page.
